Communico Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) shall set forth the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “the Policy”) regarding the handling of personal information of users in the services provided on this website.

The Company recognizes the importance of protecting personal information (name, address, telephone number, email address, and other information that can identify an individual) and the privacy of service users, event participants, and counselees, and conducts its business operations based on the following stance from the perspective of respecting human rights.

Article 1 (Personal Information)

Points to Note regarding Consultation Services

With regard to personal information obtained through consultation services, etc., the following points should be noted in particular with regard to the handling of such information, in light of the importance of protecting the privacy of counselees.

(1) When it is deemed appropriate to transfer the consultation services to another consultation organization, prior consent will be obtained from the counselee.

(2) When required for statistical or case aggregation purposes, the information will be used in such a way that individuals cannot be identified.

Article 4 (Change of Purpose of Use)

  1. The Company shall change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably deemed that the purpose of use is relevant to the purpose of use before the change.
  1. In the event of a change in the purpose of use, the Company shall notify the user or publicly announce on this website the purpose of use after the change by the method prescribed by the Company.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

1. Except in the following cases, the Company will not provide personal information to any third party without obtaining the prior consent of the user. However, this excludes the following cases permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations

1-1. When it is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of an individual, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual in question
1-2. When it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual in question
1-3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local public body, or an individual or entity entrusted by either of the foregoing with the execution of affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the individual in question is likely to impede the execution of such affairs
1-4. When the Company has notified or publicly announced the following matters in advance, and has also notified the Personal Information Protection Committee of the following matters:

1-4-2. Data items provided to third parties
  
1-4-3. Means or method of provision to third parties
  
1-4-4. To stop the provision of personal information to third parties at the request of the individual in question
  
1-4-5. How to accept the individual’s request

2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, in the following cases, the recipient of such information shall not fall under the category of a third party:

2-1. When the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
2-2. When personal information is provided as a result of the succession of business due to a merger or other reasons
2-3. In cases where personal information is used jointly with a specific individual/entity, the Company shall notify the person in question in advance of this fact and the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of the joint use, the purpose of use of the information, and the name of the person/organization responsible for managing the personal information, or the Company shall notify the person in question that the information is readily available.

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

1. When the Company receives a request from an individual for the disclosure of his/her personal information, the Company will disclose such information to the individual without delay. However, the Company may decide not to disclose all or part of the information if disclosure would result in any of the following cases, and if the Company decides not to disclose the information, the Company will notify the requester to that effect without delay. A fee of ¥1,000 (JPY) will be charged for each single case of disclosure of personal information.

1-1. If there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the person concerned or a third party
1-2. If there is a risk of significant hindrance to the proper conduct of the Company’s business
1-3. In the event that other laws and regulations are violated

2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, as a general rule, the Company will not disclose information other than personal information, such as historical information and characteristic information.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

  1. If the user’s personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request the Company to correct, add to, or delete (hereinafter referred to as “Correction, etc.”) his/her personal information in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Company. 
  2. If the Company receives a request from a user as described in the preceding paragraph and deems it necessary to respond to that request, the Company shall correct the relevant personal information without delay.
  3. In the event of Correction, etc. based on the preceding paragraph, or in the event of a decision not to make such Correction, etc., the Company shall notify the user of such decision without delay.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.)

  1. In the event a user requests the Company to stop using or delete (hereinafter referred to as “the Suspension of Use, etc.”) his/her personal information on the grounds that it has been used beyond the scope of the purposes of use or that it has been obtained by wrongful means, the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
  2. When, based on the results of the investigation described in the preceding paragraph, the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, the Company will conduct the Suspension of Use, etc. of the relevant personal information without delay.
  3. In the event of the Suspension of Use, etc. based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or in the event of a decision not to conduct the Suspension of Use, etc., the Company shall notify the user in question of this without delay.
  4. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph 2, in cases where it is difficult to take alternative measures to protect the rights and interests of users due to the large cost of the Suspension of Use, etc. or other difficulties in taking such measures, such alternative measures shall be taken.

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

  1. The content of the Policy may be changed without notice to the user, except items as otherwise specified by law or in the Policy.
  2. Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on the website.

Continuous Improvement

The Company will continuously review and improve its efforts to protect personal information in response to changes in applicable laws and regulations, handling methods, and in the environment.
